Ved Vyas wrote
Mahabharat (in Sanskrit) on the banks of
Saraswati River. Recent archeological excavations in sites like
Kunal and Banawali, are adding much more to our knowledge of Haryana's history.
Arya Samaj has a large number of followers among Haryana's people. Haryana has a rich variety of craft, folk dances and fairs & festivals. Haryana became a new state of India on 1st November 1966, with Chandigarh city as its capital.
